Trail of Sparks is the landing pad for the creative work of Amy Jean Bailey.

Amy Jean Bailey is a poet, writer, researcher, and educator. She holds a doctorate in anthropology from UCLA. Her poems are included or forthcoming in
Clockhouse, The Poetry Distillery, Spiral Orb, and the anthology The Sonoran Desert: A Literary Field Guide (University of Arizona Press). Currently, she is also a recipient of the Seattle Public Library's Eulalie and Carlo Scandiuzzi Writers’ Room Residency, based at the Seattle Central Library. 


Amy is presently working on two chapbooks – Haiku in a Hard Year (check out the Haiku page on this site) and The Crow Party​, as well as her first full-length poetry manuscript.

Born and raised in Chicago, and then living all over the U.S., she now resides with her dog on the ancestral lands and traditional territories of the Puget Sound Coast Salish people, in Seattle, Washington.
